John Laughland is coming to the remigration conference

Press release, 19 May:

The British author, journalist and political scientist John Laughland will be attending the remigration conference, Remig 2026, which is being held on 13 June.

Laughland is a lecturer in politics in France and director of Forum for Democracy International, the international branch of the Dutch party Forum voor Democratie led by Thierry Baudet. He is known as a prominent conservative thinker and has written for several decades on European politics, sovereignty, international relations and criticism of the EU.

He holds a PhD in philosophy from the University of Oxford and has taught at, among others, the University of Paris and Sciences Po in France. Laughland has also published articles in international newspapers and journals such as The Wall Street Journal, The Spectator, National Review and The American Conservative.

Among his best-known books is “The Tainted Source: The Undemocratic Origins of the European Idea”, in which he criticises the development of the EU and supranational structures in Europe. Former British politicians and commentators have described him as one of the intellectual voices behind the Brexit movement.

“– We are delighted to welcome John Laughland to Remig 2026. He is an internationally renowned conservative thinker with a strong academic background and extensive experience of European politics and public debate,” says Anne Cecilie Kristensen, leader of the Norwegian Democrats.

“– Remig 2026 is intended to be a forum for open debate, new perspectives and international cooperation between people committed to preserving their nations, cultures and democratic rights. We look forward to an important and exciting conference on 13 June,” says Kristensen.

Remig 2026 brings together politicians, authors, activists and public commentators from several European countries to discuss migration, identity, democracy and the future of Europe. The conference will feature both Norwegian and international speakers.

The Norwegian Democrats are proud to welcome John Laughland as a speaker at this year’s conference.
